Mervet Cook

Mervet's love of painting commenced since her childhood years when she was told that she had a natural talent to paint. She is, primarily, self-taught, read many books, visited many galleries and attended painting/art classes in England and Canada (Ottawa School of Art).

She paints, primarily, in oils. However, she continues to explore different mediums and techniques.

Mervet has lived in Ottawa since 1988, and lived in England prior to that. She paints on a full-time basis now that she has retired from her law career as a lawyer.

Mervet has been commissioned, privately, to paint both in England and Canada. She, primarily, paints rural and urban landscapes. She loves painting old world building/street scenes.

Mervet has exhibited at the Ottawa Little Theatre, Barrhaven's MP's Parliamentary office, The Orange Tulip store, Royal Bank of Canada (Barrhaven), Minto Recreation Center (Barrhaven) and various other venues. Mervet is a member of the Ottawa Arts Association, Manotick Arts Association and Artists of Stonebridge.
