Charles Ponee

• Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, 1942
• Holds degrees from St. Francis Xavier University (B.A.), Carleton University (M.S.W.) and the University of Ottawa (Masters.Criminology.)
• Formerly senior consultant, Ontario Ministry of Health and Vice-President of a national health company
• Mainly self-taught, with arts-related studies and initial exhibitions in high school and university (theatre set design, displays, clothing design, architectural drawings)
supported by world-wide travel
• Active in the visual arts since the 1950s. Has worked in a variety of media – oil, watercolour, charcoal, acrylic, bronze and collage
• Past President and Life-time Honourary Member of the Ottawa School of Art
• Founder and Facilitator, Tarpon Cove Art Club, Tarpon Springs, Florida, 2005-2016 and Artist in residence, 2017-19
• Contributor to numerous Ottawa-based fine arts group exhibitions and civic events. Has held group and individual exhibitions over 40 years, i.e.,
